Reid finds the fire to lead Bath fightback

IT’S been a long time coming but Bath’s first away win since November brought them huge satisfaction as they retrieved a 17-0 deficit to silence a sold-out Kingsholm and win there for the first time in five years.

On the half-hour, Bath looked down and out but a yellow card for Gloucester skipper Lewis Ludlow gave them a foothold and increased their confidence which resulted in them scoring three tries in 11 minutes to run out deserved winners.

Gloucester head coach George Skivington said: “The yellow card for Lewis took the advantage away from us and put them right back in it.

“It’s mixed emotions as in the first half we had a great start by opening them up with some delightful stuff, some of the best we’ve played all season”.

Skivington’s comment was fair as his side abandoned their box-kicking and were rewarded with some cut-throat attacking from full-back Santiago Carreras and flying wings, Ollie Thorley and Louis Rees-Zammit.
