JAMIE MILLIGAN says his Bamber Bridge found a way to win when it mattered most – and they’ll need to do the same if they’re to win the play-off final in Warrington Town’s backyard.

Brig beat Gainsborough Trinity on penalties after Tuesday’s semi-final finished 1-1 after extra time despite Milligan’s side seeing Nathan Pond sent off ten minutes into the second half.

It’s got the NPL Premier outfit dreaming of the National League North and Milligan says getting through the semi was a big achievement.

“I said before the game, they just need to find a way of winning – whether it’s pretty football or whatever, they’ve just got to find a way,” Milligan told The NLP. “When we went down to ten men I was thinking, ‘I’m not sure about this now’.
