Now Tommy Widdrington's expansive new team are Non-League record breakers eyeing another EFL scalp and the possible boundless bounty of a glamorous third round tie. It's been that kind of season so far.

After several seasons of massive underachievement, and sometimes avoiding relegation more by luck than judgment, the phoenix on the club's badge has risen with renewed pride.

Stockport County, though, are also recent record-breakers themselves, after a 12-game winning streak in League Two a division they currently lead by five points, with a full 12-point advantage over the Shots' first round victims, Swindon Town.
