DUNDAS' EYEING THE CLASS OF 97

KIDSROVE Athletic boss Scott Dundas says he has done his research on how to win promotion from Northern Premier League West.

Dundas’ study has led to a change of playing style at Hollinwood Road – and it’s worked a treat with Grove having won all of their opening seven league games.

“We just had a look at things and how we could improve,” said playing legend Dundas, who returned to manage the club in March 2020 and led them to a eighth-place finish last term.

“You look at the teams that have gone up. Workington played a good deal of football, Macclesfield played a good deal of football and, that’s from last year really and, then years before teams who have gone up, they have always been a good footballing team.

“Even though it is a tough league and very physical, we thought we would try something different and see if it works.

“If it didn’t work, we would revert back to the hustle and bustle.”
