REECE MYLES-MEEKUMS struck a 70th-minute winner R as Worthing came from behind to gain ground on play-off rivals Braintree Town.
Josh Chambers had cancelled out Zak Bradshaw's opener for the Iron.
Worthing boss Adam Hinshelwood felt his side could have won more comfortably had they been more clinical in front of goal. He told The NLP: "We showed a lot of good character to stay in there.
"The game should have been more comfortable. We showed a bit of naivety at times - we left ourselves exposed from our corners, which is something to look at. Second half they (Braintree) changed it up a bit and had a little bit of a go, but we kept going and missed some chances where we've got to hit the target."
