Government determined to reduce farmland

- by DARREN SMITH

The hunger games

‘BY controlling food one can control people, and by controlling energy one can control nations and their financial systems’ - Henry Kissinger.

Depending on the source, it is estimated that Britain imports between 45 and 80 per cent of its food. The higher figure is due to the importing of raw ingredients, such as tea, which are then processed in the UK and then no longer counted as imports.

Even if we take the lower estimates, the push by the government to plaster prime growing land with industrial solar panels and wind turbines, nearly always despite the express objections of councils and residents, should be viewed as lunacy.

While some may have been scared into believing there is a climate and energy crisis due to decades of propaganda, hardly anyone believes this is the solution.

Because there are better technologies, better locations and better science available, one can only conclude that this policy is to further reduce Britain’s ability to feed itself, and force us to rely even more on imports and processed, low-quality food.
