A New Dimension to the Sustainable Development

- Sarita Brara

Art from Electric Trash

Article by Sarita Brara portrays a pro—Udit Narayan—who can bring life, in the form of artwork, out of the dead, thrown away material like fuse wires, used chargers, multi-coloured binding and moulding tapes, sun mica, and other waste material. The author has established that sustainability lies in our intentions, it is not limited within the perimeter of 'just discussions'.

He prides in calling himself a 'kachra artist' with a mission to clean the environment.

He is Udit Narayan Bainsla, a wire artist, who uses thrown away or not in use material like fuse wires, used chargers, multi-coloured binding and moulding tapes, sun mica, and other waste material to create beautiful pictures and even does portraits using the same stuff. Udit Naryan had put up a stall at the entrance of the Haryana Pavilion at the just concluded India International Trade Fair in Delhi. At the fair one could see him busy creating beautiful designs of flowers, trees, sceneries, and portraits without a brush in his hand or palette to mix colours. Udit Narayan teaches art at Anglo Vedic Gurukul School near Muzaffarabad and is also a textile designer.
