Q/ As Andhra Pradesh hosts the CII Partnership Summit 2025, what key assurances are you extending to investors to reinforce confidence in the state's policy stability and business environment? How does your current economic and governance framework differ from your previous term in office?
-
A/ My assurance to investors: when you invest in Andhra Pradesh, your project becomes our project. In my earlier tenure, we built the foundation - ports, power, roads and digital networks. Today, we are building a plug-and-play ecosystem for industries. We have introduced the best industrial policies in the country— the Industrial Development Policy 4.0 (2024-2029) and 24 focused sectoral policies in green energy, electronics, semiconductors, aerospace, MSMEs and more. These ensure clear incentives, fiscal support and transparent execution. From Ease of Doing Business, we have moved to Speed of Doing Business with single window clearance and a business-friendly ecosystem.
Q/ Ease of doing business has long been a hallmark of your governance. How is your government leveraging digital transformation and e-governance tools to fast-track regulatory clearances and create a seamless experience for investors and enterprises?
A/ Andhra Pradesh has always been ahead in using technology for good governance. We believe technology should make life simpler for citizens and businesses. Our aim is to create a fast, transparent and investor-friendly ecosystem.
Through the Andhra Pradesh Single Desk Portal (APSDP), we have changed the way approvals happen. What once took months now happens in just a few days. Investors get everything in one place—one login, one window, one timeline. The portal offers 123 business services across 23 departments, and has processed over two lakh applications with 99 per cent on-time approvals.
We are proud that Andhra Pradesh is the first state fully integrated with the National Single Window System (NSWS). This allows investors to get both state and central approvals with a single login.

A film, a wedding, and the sound of an ending
A film I like to revisit at least three times a year is Margin Call, J.C. Chandor's 2011 gem set in an investment bank on the eve of the 2008 financial crash. I keep returning to it for three reasons:

Nitish's roads or Tejashwi's jobs?
Why do we need roads? Nobody here has got a car,\" a dalit lad whom I had picked up as a local guide during the 1998 general elections snapped when I complained of the backbreaking drive to Laxmanpur Bathe, the village where scores of dalits had been massacred by upper-caste men a few months earlier. In a moment I was enlightened why caste made more electoral sense in Bihar than bijli-sadak-paani promises.

Gandhi, Trump and the Nobel conundrum
There are few honours in the world quite as prestigious, and yet quite as perplexing, as the Nobel Peace Prize. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has a long, theatrical history of praising the unexpectedly deserving and the disturbingly convenient, leaving some heroes unadorned and some hardheaded killers festooned with medals.
