Making AI work for Bharat

At a recent event, TCS highlighted how tech can help women and the youth scale barriers

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's biggest software services firm, is training rural women entrepreneurs in artificial intelligence (AI) to empower them financially. It organised the Tata AI Sakhi Immersion Program on the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi, bringing around 1,600 women village entrepreneurs and grassroots changemakers.

"With the AI for Sakhi programme, we are bringing all rural women entrepreneurs and teaching them AI and telling them how they can use AI to enhance the services they can provide to the rural population and thereby increasing and improving their own livelihood and the livelihood of the people taking all the government schemes in the rural parts of India," said Tata Consultancy Services MD & CEO K Krithivasan.

With AI Sakhi, TCS aims to break key barriers in AI adoption, said Krithivasan.

"AI programming has been the forte of people who are comfortable in English.
