Last Night of the Proms to be trumpeter's final concert
-
Trumpeter Alison Balsom has revealed that her recent appearance at the 2025 Last Night of the Proms was her final public performance. During an interview for BBC Radio 4's This Cultural Life shortly before the end of this year's Proms season, Balsom explained to presenter John Wilson that, after a 24-year professional career that has seen her win a host of awards and introduce the trumpet to a wide new audience, she plans to give up her busy life of performing and recording to concentrate on her family and leave time for other activities.
