The Duke of Sussex has spoken openly about his anxiety in front of large crowds. So it was little wonder Prince Harry appeared visibly emotional as he stood in front of 20,000 people at his Invictus Games closing ceremony in Vancouver last week.

The 40-year-old was pictured holding back tears as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau paid tribute to him for founding the incredible event for wounded war heroes.

Despite the poignant and congratulatory scenes, New Idea has learnt some insiders were privately raising eyebrows about why Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was not by Harry's side for his special moment. Instead, Meghan, 43, had left Canada several days before, returning to their California home where she relaunched her lifestyle brand via a whimsical Instagram video (see breakout).
