A wave of EV firsts, design upgrades and big-league arrivals kept November's automotive pulse running high

India's EV wave shows no signs of slowing down with Mahindra firing on all cylinders — first with the XEV 9S, the country's maiden mass-market three-row electric SUV, and then with the BE 6 Formula E Edition bringing motorsport swagger to showrooms. Tata revived the Sierra nameplate for a new generation, while Porsche and Maserati electrified the premium order with heavyweight tech and six-figure horsepower. Motorcycles joined the party too, with Ducati updating both Streetfighters, Kawasaki unveiling a new Z flagship, and Yamaha and Hero widening the appeal of massy offerings. MAHINDRA BE 6 FORMULA E EDITION Price: Rs 23.69 lakh (ex-showroom)

This motorsport-inspired special edition adds aggressive bumpers, contrasting cladding, unique decals, a fixed glass roof and Formula E-themed design elements. It retains the BE 6's 79 kWh battery and dual-motor powertrain but enhances equipment with adjustable suspension, 20-inch wheels (FE3), wireless charging, a 360° camera, ADAS and a Harman Kardon sound system.

MAHINDRA XEV 9S Price: Rs 19.95 lakh (starting, ex-showroom)

India's first mass-market three-row electric SUV, the Mahindra XEV 9S is positioned as the EV alternative to the XUV700, built on the INGLO skateboard platform. It offers 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh battery choices, with even the base variant packing a triple-screen cabin, panoramic sunroof, LED lighting, 18/20-inch wheels and a massive 527-litre boot plus 150-litre frunk. Higher trims promise stronger performance and range, positioning it as a tech-forward, family-ready EV at a compelling price.
