Discover the trends for sleep sanctuaries this year and update your boudoir with a few clever tweaks
There's no time like the present to reassess your home style and see if there are any T nooks or rooms that aren't working for you. A bedroom is a great example - though we might spend less time curating our decor here to focus our attentions on the more social spaces of our homes, a bedroom isn't just a space to sleep. It's your personal sanctuary, a place for self-expression and comfort. Be inspired to transform your space with the latest trends, from a fresh palette to bold accent pieces make it a dream come true.
SCULPTURAL CURVES
This trend combines contemporary forms and a cosy feel through sweeping shapes and texture. M&S heralds 'soft and sculptural forms...beautifully contrasted with raw, untreated tactility', so place round, luxurious rugs beside industrial-style floor lamps, and furnishings or wall treatments in natural wood, as seen in Dunelm's new Edited Life collection, pictured left. A curved bedhead is a must, and keep other accessories flowing and circular with pill mirrors, rounded occasion chairs and spherical bulbs or lampshades.
Sweet chocolate Pantone's Colour of the Year is Mocha Mousse, so get ready to see all manner of rich, sweet shades in home decor throughout 2025. 'Decorating with brown may seem daunting,' says Helen Shaw, director of marketing (international) at Benjamin Moore, 'however, it is a great bolder neutral that stands as a strong focal point in all different rooms within the home. Woodwork presents the perfect opportunity to draw the eye to a specific area within a space; whether that's by painting a picture rail, wooden beam or simply adding colour to your skirting.' We love it on a feature wall, as shown, with caramel-toned bedding.
