SHADE AND SUBSTANCE

A dramatic yet refined setting, defined by the custom-made Leviosa light dances across the ceiling, paired with a sculptural gold spiral staircase and a bold black bar counter accented with brass details A custom-made blush upholstered bed by Sona Reddy Studio anchors the room, complemented by muted lime-washed walls, cane accents, and soft daylight filtering through sheer drapes (OPPOSITE PAGE). The lounge features a double-height volume with Bison Board panels, a sculptural pendant by The Wicker Story, a deep purple Ray Barn sofa, and the Dhara rug from the House of Knots x Sona Reddy collection. By the edge of Himayat Sagar lake outside Hyderabad, an orchard of old mango trees cradles an 8,350 sq ft retreat imagined by siblings Akhila and Kaushik. The two wanted a place to escape city routines and gather their family without hurry. Designer Sona Reddy shaped that wish into a house that keeps close to the land yet feels expressive in its craft and detail. “The home intends to draw one closer to a slower pace of life,” says Sona. “It allows nature to host you as you spend time with loved ones and momentarily forget what the city demands.”
