Bram Rouws who is a carpenter, cabinet-maker and furniture designer, takes us on his journey of starting Bram Woodcrafting Studio in India

It is interesting how one decision can impact the course of our life. For founder and director Bram Rouws, it was a work trip that brought him from France to India, which later led him to start Bram Woodcrafting Studio (BWS). “I belong to a guild called Les Compagnons du tour de France, and as a part of this we travel to different countries every year. During this, I stopped at Kolkata and worked with Terra Indica — a collaboration that marked the inception of my company in Mysuru in 2017,” he reveals. Today, the company consists of 135 employees with departments including interior design, wooden cabin construction, and the production of doors and windows.

Core values of conservation, innovation, sustainable development and education — in this order — form the foundation of BWS’ work culture. “Our primary goal is to preserve our inheritance, then to develop on it.
