Art has always been a quiet constant in Kayzad Shroff’s life: from being surrounded by it as a child to making it a priority when he and Maria first moved to India.

For Maria, it’s a source of admiration and fresh perspective, often offering new ways of seeing the world. “We went and bought two pieces of art. That's the first thing we did when we came to India, even before deciding our firm would be called SHROFFLEÓN,” they recall. One artwork from their collection now sits proudly in their home, its backstory as compelling as the piece itself. We catch up with SHROFFLEÓN’s founders, Kayzad Shroff and his wife, Maria Isabel Jiménez León, as they share the artwork that continues to inspire them, and the story behind it.
