Having plants in your bathroom is a bit of a design no-brainer.

Not only will they add visual interest and soften all the hard surfaces, but certain plants will also soak up excess humidity in the air, reducing the likelihood of issues stemming from damp and condensation.

According to Claire Bishop, senior buyer of houseplants at Dobbies Garden Centres, 'A bathroom can be transformed into a space of calm with the addition of lush leafy greens, creating a tranquil spa-like feel.'

Petar Ivanov, plant and gardening expert at Fantastic Gardeners, advises: 'It's important to strike a balance in watering to make sure bathroom plants don't become oversaturated. Also, do provide proper ventilation to prevent moisture-related problems.'
