Sigorney Thomas’ historic home couldn’t look more iconic Americana, but inside it’s beautifully crafted to tick all the boxes for modern family life

From the outside this house with its white picket fencing and shingled facade, couldn’t look more quintessentially iconic Americana. It’s a style that harkens back to the late 1800s and the development of the ideal American suburb. Its new contemporary-meets-traditional interior, however, is a complete contrast, with legendary British names — Designers Guild, Farrow & Ball, Osborne & Little — presiding. 'I always said that when I was able to decorate a home I wanted it to feel like I was living on the corner of the King’s Road,' says owner Sigorney Thomas, who was based in southwest London with her investor husband John for five years.
