I am delighted to inform you that gemstone design diagrams have returned to Rock & Gem. I will be curating the designs of a new generation of gemstone design artists. It will be a variety of modern versions of classic designs, innovative designs, and the introduction of concave faceting designs. To get things started, this edition presents the classic round brilliant by Jim Perkins.

Jim Perkins authored his first gemstone design book for quartz gems in 2006, Designed for Quartz - A Book of Faceting Designs. This is one of the first books I used to learn how to facet.
