When faced with unexpected circumstances, your wardrobe can be the best armour. Megha Kapoor talks to SHRIYA ZAMINDAR about perfecting her capsule wardrobe across zip codes and continents

In transit

On 4 September last year, when I got the job as Vogue India's head of editorial content, I sold off the contents of my apartment and packed up my life into two suitcases ready to jump on a plane to Mumbai. But things don't always go as planned. The next ten months were spent on Zoom, jumping from city to city, from shoots to fashion weeks all the while living out of my trusty suitcase. Over these months, I like to think that I have perfected the art of a capsule wardrobe clothes that have the ability to be your armour and make you feel like yourself while giving you back some semblance of control.

"With not many familiar possessions to come home to or call my own, this wardrobe of a few jeans, white singlets, black T-shirts, men's shirts and an assortment of blazers has become an extension of my identity. A certain utilitarianism is now ingrained in my personal style-it's crisp, classic, boyish. I call it my uniform.
