Approximately 17.5% of adults, or about one in six people globally, experience this condition that transcends geography, culture, and socioeconomic status. In India, the issue is equally pressing, with 10-14% of the population affected by infertility. The problem is even more pronounced in urban areas, where one in six couples struggles with infertility, highlighting a growing public health issue. Despite the prevalence of infertility, societal perceptions have not kept pace with the advancements in reproductive medicine. The stigma surrounding infertility, and by extension, IVF, often exacerbates the emotional and psychological burden on those affected. In India, only about 1% seek medical evaluation, a statistic that speaks volumes about the enduring taboo.
