'Sutr Santati: Then. Now. Next.' takes on new strands of textile artistry and cultural dialogue at its latest pitstop in Mumbai

"At museums, we only see textiles of the past and there's such a low feeling of this has died and it needs to be revived'. But actually, there are so many practitioners across the country doing amazing work, great organisations supporting so many different craft clusters and designers doing some pathbreaking work," notes textile revivalist Lavina Baldota, the curator of 'Sutr Santati: Then. Now. Next. This expansive showcase of living traditions brings together about 125 textile-based artworks by close to 200 prominent artisans, craftspeople, designers and artists at the National Gallery Of Modern Art in Mumbai. This is the third edition of the show, following its inauguration in New Delhi in August 2022 and its international debut at Melbourne Museum, Australia.
