CRAZY ABOUT CROCS!

With more than 3 500 pairs, Doogie has the largest collection in the world - and he's achieved his childhood dream of a Guinness World Record

HIS BASEMENT is filled with row after row of custom-built shelves lined with thousands upon thousands of colourful clogs.

SpongeBob SquarePants designs, movie-themed collaborations, Krispy Kreme doughnut styles . . . you name a kind, Doogie Sandtiger will have it in what he calls his Croc Cave.

And Doogie – aka the Croc King – recently achieved something he’s fantasised about since childhood: he was awarded a Guinness World record.

His collection of Crocs was officially declared the largest in the world after the Guinness people counted 3 569 pairs of them – and Doogie couldn’t be more delighted with the accolade.

Not that being crowned the king of Crocs collectors has stopped him from adding to his stash, mind you.

“I actually bought a new pair this morning,” the 34-year-old tells YOU from his home in Connecticut in the US.

He now has 3 818 pairs. “And I have several more on the way.”

His road to glory began when representatives from Guinness World Records contacted him after spotting his social media posts, which documented each new addition to his collection.

The official 13-hour counting session took place at Wethersfield’s Keeney Memorial Cultural Center, where Doogie spent time as a child when he was in the foster-care system.

When Guinness confirmed his achievement and featured him in the 2026 Guinness World Records book, his hometown celebrated in style.

The mayor declared 2 September – a few days after Doogie revealed publicly that he'd be in the latest Guinness book as Croc King Doogie Day.

While his record focuses on footwear, Doogie's Crocs obsession extends far beyond shoes. His collection includes more than 25 000 Crocs-related items, from Jibbitz to bags and clothing.
