Emmerdale's DANNY MILLER and Coronation Street's VICKY MYERS tell TV Times about making soap history

Both shows have a big cast, so it was amazing to be a part of this - it feels like being selected to represent your team in the World Cup!

In the collision, Aaron and John [Oliver Farnworth] are upside down in their car, with both of their lives hanging in the balance.

Duncan Foster, the director, wanted it to look as real as possible, so we had stunt doubles to mark the shot, and then we had to climb inside the damaged, upside-down car - it felt very claustrophobic.

We started our night shoots about 7.15pm and went till half five in the morning. There were hand-warmers and hot-water bottles available, but I'm lucky as I don't tend to feel the cold. Lots of the cast and crew stayed in a hotel but the crash site was only 25 minutes drive from my house, so I didn't bother. Although going home to three kids who've all slept while you've worked all night is tough, I'll be honest! All credit to my wife, Steph, who kept them busy while I had some sleep.
