ANNA MADELEY and CALLUM WOODHOUSE on why Christmas in Darrowby this year will be extra special

The residents of Skeldale House are keen to ensure that Christmas 1945 is one to remember in this year's festive instalment of 5's hit vet drama All Creatures Great and Small.

The first peacetime Yuletide following World War Two dawns and the fictional Yorkshire Dales village of Darrowby is infused with seasonal spirit as Tristan Farnon (played by Callum Woodhouse) races to find a tree for pub The Drovers Arms, and housekeeper Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley) tries to get her hands on a prize turkey. Meanwhile, there's a nativity, which James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph) is organising as wife Helen (Rachel Shenton) is sick.

But amid the excitement, there are still poorly animals to treat, while Tristan's older brother Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West) is unsettled by the return of his old flame Dorothy (Van Der Valk's Maimie McCoy).

Here, in an exclusive interview, Anna and Callum tell TV Times why the special is set to be an absolute cracker...

Everyone in Darrowby is pulling out all the stops to make Christmas magical, aren't they?
