It’s set to be a full house this Christmas for DI Humphrey Goodman and his fiancée Martha Lloyd, as this year’s seasonal instalment of BBC1’s hit crime drama Beyond Paradise sees the couple take in a foster chil over the festive period.

Humphrey (played by Kris Marshall) and Martha (Sally Bretton) are excited at the prospect of Jaiden (Austin Taylor) coming to stay with them in the cottage. But although Martha takes time off work to help the quiet teen settle in, she starts to doubt herself when none of her attempts to make him feel at home seem to be working.
