SALLY LINDSAY on love and intrigue for amateur investigator Jean as we return to Sainte Victoire
-
Coins, corpses and clandestine relationships combine in a compelling case for Sally Lindsay's super-sleuth Jean White when 5's sun-soaked whodunnit The Madame Blanc Mysteries returns for a fourth series this week.
The fictional French village of Sainte Victoire is shaken when Judith and Jeremy Lloyd James (played by Sue Holderness and Robin Askwith) find the body of businessman Antoine Lefevre in a boat while they're out jet-skiing.
Intrigued by the two rare coins that were left covering Antoine's eyes, antiques expert Jean begins investigating and is soon unravelling a complex web of betrayal and revenge – with dangerous consequences!
As well as all that, Jean's also busy guarding a secret of her own, as she and best pal Dom Hayes (Steve Edge) haven't yet gone public as a couple. But how long can they keep their new relationship hidden from their friends?
TV Times joined the always-lovely Sally, 51 – who co-created and co-writes the show with Sue Vincent, alias Sainte Victoire's glamorous mechanic Gloria Beauchamp – for an exclusive chat to find out more…
We love that this new six-part run opens with fan favourites Judith and Jeremy on jet skis! What inspired this idea?
