BEN ELTON on reviving his groundbreaking 1980s show

From 1985 to 1988, C4’s comedy showcase Saturday Live – which later became Friday Night Live – was mustwatch TV and made household names of Harry Enfield, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry as well as its sparkly-suit-wearing host, Ben Elton.

Now, as part of C4’s 40thbirthday celebrations, the show is being revived for a one-off special, with Ben again acting as compère and the bill featuring a mix of comedy legends from the original series plus up-andcoming stars.
