Benedict loses his heart to a mysterious stranger as the Regency romance returns
Free-spirited Benedict Bridgerton is set to become the talk of the 'ton' as he takes centre stage when Netflix's hit period drama returns for a fourth run of romance and scandal.
Previous series of Bridgerton have seen the hard-living bachelor, played by Luke Thompson, resolutely avoid the competitive marriage market of Regency London's high society. But now, the talented artist is set to fall hopelessly in love with a mysterious stranger.
As the eight-parter begins, Benedict, the second eldest of the eight wealthy Bridgerton siblings, reluctantly attends a masquerade ball held by his mother Lady Violet (Ruth Gemmell). He is soon bewitched by the enigmatic 'Lady in Silver', unaware that she is Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), a plucky maid working for Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung, see panel, right), who has disguised herself to attend the dance.
