The soaring romance between witty Elizabeth Bennet and brooding Mr Darcy in Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice has captured the imagination of countless generations.

But now, BBC1's 10-part drama The Other Bennet Sister, based on Janice Hadlow's novel, sees Elizabeth's studious and often overshadowed sister Mary take centre stage. As the series begins, the shy wallflower, played by Ella Bruccoleri, is struggling to establish her place in the world as she grows up alongside spirited Elizabeth (Poppy Gilbert) and her other equally dynamic sisters - sweet Jane (Maddie Close) and fun-loving Kitty and Lydia (Molly Wright and Grace Hogg-Robinson).
