It's been more than a year since the seventh instalment of time-hopping historical drama Outlander took a mid-season break, but it finally resumes this week on MGM+ with the remaining eight episodes.

When we last saw 18th-century Scottish soldier Jamie (Sam Heughan) and his 20th-century-born wife Claire (Caitriona Balfe), they had left the American Revolutionary War behind them to travel back to the Highlands and bring home the body of Jamie's late uncle Simon after he died in battle.
