Tahoe's new Recovery Assistant

One feature new to Tahoe, missing from Apple's list, aims to repair your Mac if it can’t start up correctly. Instead of having to start in recovery mode, you should be taken straight into the new Recovery Assistant.

There it'll run diagnostic tests and try to fix any problems it can, based on latest data downloaded from Apple, for which it requires an internet connection, normally WiFi. After a few minutes, it should tell you whether your Mac is fixed and can be restarted normally.
