Better battery information for Mac, iPhone and iPad

What do you do if you want to check your MacBook’s battery status? You click the battery icon in the menu bar, of course. But really, that doesn’t tell you very much about your battery. Sure, you can find out how many charge cycles it’s undergone from the System Information window, but that’s still pretty basic information.

One alternative is to use coconutBattery. This app provides a wealth of battery data in much more granular detail than Apple provides. All the information that is hidden by Apple comes to the surface, and it’s a handy way to see the true state of your battery.
