REEVA'S TEETAR RIDDLE

September Second 2025

There once was a very mischievous boy, Kabir, and he enjoyed troubling others. He was clever and good at studies, but also a first-class mischief-maker.

REEVA'S TEETAR RIDDLE

He had two sisters. Reeva was the eldest sister. She was studying in inter (intermediate or the 12th grade). Kabir was younger than her, and Priya was the youngest, only seven years old. This year, she joined the second grade, while Kabir studied in the seventh grade.

One evening, when Reeva returned from school, Kabir quietly whispered, “Didi, papa has brought sweets today.”

“Really?” Reeva was delighted to hear this.

“Yes, really, Didi. I saw it with my own eyes. Mummy has kept the sweets in the fridge. Everyone will get some after dinner tonight,” he said in a hushed voice.

“Oh! What kind of sweets are they?” she asked eagerly.

image“That I don’t know. They were in a box. It was a box from Uday Sweet Shop,” Kabir replied.

“Then they must be peda. The peda from that shop is very delicious,” Reeva guessed, her mouth watering. She loved peda.

“Yes, maybe it is peda,” Kabir said with a smile.

Reeva believed him. It often happened that papa brought sweets home while returning from the office, and mummy would give them to everyone after dinner. Reeva told Priya about this, who got excited as well. Both of them began looking forward to dinner.

The Park Came Alive

The Koi fish living in Sangam Pond of Munia Park had lately become very sad. No one came near their pond anymore, while earlier, the place used to be full of morning walkers. In the evenings, women and children would gather there. The park always remained lively with people’s chatter and laughter.

GRAVE MISTAKES

“Here’s your new school,” Dad said as he pulled over at the gate of Silver Pines School. Courtesy of his dad’s frequent job transfers, Omi is always the new student. This was his fourth school in the last eight years. Standing at the gates of his new school, clutching his bag, he tried not to look nervous. His family had just moved to the town a week ago, and everything still smelled new—new books, new uniform, new trouble.
