ALEX MURDAUGH: Devoted Father & Husband or COLD-BLOODED KILLER?

After a yearlong investigation, the disgraced attorney is charged with the brutal murders of his wife and son

Alex Murdaugh sounded distraught. In a 911 call, he made just after 10 p.m. on June 7, 2021, the South Carolina attorney begged for help. "I need the police and an ambulance immediately. My wife and child have been shot badly!" he said, explaining that he "just came back" to Moselle, his 1,700-acre hunting estate in Islandton, S.C., where he said he found their bodies "on the ground out at my [dog] kennels. Neither one of 'em is moving."

A little over a year later, Alex is the prime suspect in the slayings. On July 14, the once prominent lawyer was charged with two counts of murder and two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in connection with the deaths of his wife of 27 years, Maggie, and son Paul, 22. Though Alex pleaded not guilty and his lawyers insist he loved his wife and son "more than anything in the world" and "did not have any motive whatsoever to murder them," leaked details suggest otherwise.
