IT'S YACHT SEASON FOR DENMARK'S KING AND QUEEN

Wearing the traditional dress of the Faroe Islands, King Frederik and Queen Mary took a moment together to relax before greeting the cheering locals. The Danish monarchs, accompanied by their youngest daughter, Princess Josephine, 14, set sail for a three-day visit to the region that commenced on June 11.

“I was 10 years old when I first experienced the Faroe Islands with my parents and my brother,” Frederik said in a speech marking his first visit to the Danish territory since he became King in early 2024. “Wearing national costume and a good dose of shyness.”

The visit, made onboard the Royal Yacht Dannebrog, could not have been done in greater style. The 78-metre luxury ship is one of only two official royal ships left in the world.
