ERIC DANE: A Powerful Goodbye

Eric Dane, the magnetic actor whose screen presence made him a fan favorite on Grey's Anatomy and beyond, died on Feb. 19, 2026, at the age of 53 following a brave battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

The actor's friends launched a GoFundMe to support Dane and Gayheart's daughters after his passing.

“He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world,” his family said in a statement. “Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight.”
