There's nothing quite as tantalising in comedy than watching rich people being absolutely terrible at ordinary life. Whether it's guessing that one banana costs $10 (Arrested Development) or keeping a horse in the teensy courtyard of your apartment (2 Broke Girls), they just can't quite scale down. It's a joke that Schitt's Creek goes to town on, when an embezzling business manager forces the rich Rose family to relocate from LA gated suburbs to the small Canadian town they once bought as a joke.
