According to insiders, the bromance between the two high-profile Dems crumbled after Clooney called for an enfeebled President Joe Biden to step down in a stinging New York Times piece.

Obama quickly endorsed Biden's veep Kamala Harris for president, but as for handing her the nomination without a quickie primary, “I think it was a mistake, quite honestly,” Clooney said in a recent TV interview.
