Ailing Princess Kate tries to keep things as normal as she can for her youngest child, Prince Louis including onhis 6thb-day

It’s a long-standing tradition. Each time one of their kids celebrates a birthday, Prince William and Princess Kate share a new photo of the child whose big day it is. But with Kate, 42, undergoing cancer treatments (and all the hubbub around the edited family photo she released in March), many wondered if the couple would deliver this year when Prince Louis turned 6 on April 23.

Well, the Prince and Princess of Wales didn’t disappoint. Dressed in a hand-me-down shirt from brother Prince George, Louis grinned widely in a commemorative image taken by his mother and posted to the couple’s official Instagram account. “Kate tried to make Louis’ birthday as normal as possible amid her cancer battle,” says an insider. “He’s her baby, and will always be her baby, so she shields him from as much as she can.”
