'THANK YOU FOR YOUR WARM WELCOME' THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF SUSSEX SOAK UP THE COLOURFUL CULTURE OF COLOMBIA ON A WHIRLWIND FOUR-DAY TOUR

Exuding the same level of passion and positivity that they brought to Nigeria back in May, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex filled the air with excitement as they touched down in Colombia for a whirlwind four-day tour.

Organized as part of Harry and Meghan's mission to improve online safety for children, the trip was described by Vice-President Francia Márquez as a "very special visit" aimed at building bridges and joining forces against cyberbullying.

And it was an especially exciting moment for Francia who had admittedly been wanting to host the couple for quite some time.

"I saw the Netflix series about their life and that moved me and motivated me to say that this is a woman who deserves to come to our country and tell her story," she said of the Sussexes' 2022 docuseries.

"Her exchange will undoubtedly be an empowerment to so many women in the world."

CULTURAL CAPITAL

Following their arrival in the country's capital, Bogotá, Harry and Meghan kicked off their working visit at the vice-president's official residence, where they discussed their shared goals for a safer digital future and better mental health for kids around the world.

They were then invited to sample some of the country's colourful culture at a special event highlighting Bogotá's arts scene, which included a Carnaval de Pasto performance in an outdoor plaza.

The duke and duchess enthusiastically applauded the performers and took time to chat with musicians, actors and crew members who were involved with the event at the Delia Zapata Olivella National Arts Centre, where the couple had been greeted by Minister of Culture Juan David Correa and the centre's director, Xiomara Suescún.
