Brazilian soccer star Jorginho and singer Catherine Harding invite us to their breathtaking nuptials on Italy's Lake Como

A-listers have long flocked to Italy’s Lake Como for its jaw-dropping beauty - George and Amal Clooney famously make their home there each summer. This June, it was Brazilian soccer star Jorginho and British singer Catherine Harding’s turn to put the romantic destination on the map when they sealed their love in a wedding as picturesque as the views.

The couple exchanged vows at the gorgeous Villa Erba – a 19th-century mansion nestled on the lake’s western shore – in front of loved ones and close friends. Despite an unexpected downpour that moved the ceremony indoors, the romance only intensified – after all, rain on your wedding day is said to bring good luck.

Hello! was there exclusively to witness every moment of the celebration, from the emotional “I do's” to the joyous party that followed.

A ‘SURREAL’ ENTRANCE

Wearing an Italian lace bridal gown by luxury fashion house Berta and carrying a bouquet of ivory peonies, Cat glided down the vast staircase of the historic villa arm in arm with her father, Brian, as a string quartet played Elvis Presley’s “Can't Help Falling in Love.”

“It felt surreal,” says the 34-year-old, who appeared on TV’s The Voice UK in 2015. “I was in my own little bubble and didn’t look away from [Jorginho] the entire way. When I saw his eyes and he was crying, it was so special.”

Adds the groom, 33: “It was incredible. I didn’t think I was going to cry, but when I saw her, I was like, ‘Oh my God, what’s happening here?’ She looked so stunning.”
