As this month's auction of artefacts belonging to Princess Diana approaches, HELLO! discovers some of the stories behind what's on offer

Speaking to HELLO! at a preview of Princess Diana Style & A Royal Collection at Julien’s Auctions, which will host the sale in Los Angeles on 26 June, designer Jacques Azagury recalled how “dressing Diana was more about her — I tried to keep the dress as secondary”.

Jacques is known for the “famous five”: glamorous evening dresses that Diana wore in her later years, such as the short, ice-blue number she chose for a gala performance of Swan Lake in 1997, and the black Chantilly lace dress she donned for her 36th birthday — the last dress she wore to a public engagement before her untimely death.
