The superstar opens up about her attitude to love, how she stays grounded and why she trusts her instincts – and her best friend

She has been at the top of the music game for nearly 40 years and has sold more than 80 million records. But the world still just can't get enough of Kylie Minogue, the first woman ever to top the UK album charts in five consecutive decades and the winner of two Grammy Awards and four Brit Awards.

From the second she found fame as an actress in Neighbours in 1986, before effortlessly pivoting to a musical career, she has not put a foot wrong.

So it's perhaps no surprise that the star says she has always been guided by her instinct. "I honestly think you do what you like and what pleases you," says Kylie, 57, in this exclusive interview.

"Trust yourself and let your instinct guide you. If you're really not sure, however, ask your best friend; my best girlfriend always knows, as she knows me so well. A compliment from your best friend is beautiful."

WORLDWIDE FAME

Although she has long been a national treasure in the UK, the Kylie pop phenomenon has truly gone global in the past couple of years. Her 2023 hit Padam Padam was a smash hit all over the world, helping achieve her long-time dream of cracking the elusive US market.

This year, she has embarked on her biggest tour in over a decade. The Tension Tour comprises 69 dates across multiple continents, including North America, where Kylie recently played two sold-out nights at New York's Madison Square Garden.

In the UK, the singer's dates at the O2 arena catapulted her into the elite group of performers — becoming the only female among them - who have headlined the venue 21 times.
