After ten weeks of sweet treats, TV show The Great British Bake Off crowned its newest winner last week and it was Matty Edgell who came out on top.

The self-proclaimed "underdog" of Channel 4's baking competition was all smiles as he lifted the coveted glass cake stand, having fended off competition from finalists Josh Smalley and Dan Hunter. But that's not all he had to celebrate.

The icing on the cake of the 28-year-old PE and science teacher's triumph is that he is marrying fiancée Lara next June and so his next culinary assignment will be to make his own wedding cake.
