MEETS VETERANS AND LEADS TRIBUTES AS SHE DELIVERS A MOVING MESSAGE FROM HER BROTHER THE KING

The Princess Royal led tributes to Second World War veterans who fought in the Battle of Arnhem during a series of moving events last weekend.

Princess Anne was representing the King in the Netherlands to mark the 80th anniversary of the battle, which was depicted in 1977 movie A Bridge Too Far.

Anne was pictured laying a wreath at the memorial service, which took place at the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery in the east of the country, as the families of veterans and Dutch citizens gathered to pay their respects.

A small group of soldiers who survived the nine-day battle also attended, watching as the Royal Netherlands Air Force conducted a flypast with three historic aircraft.
