CALENDAR GIRLS GET BACK TO NATURE

We go behind the scenes of the iconic Pirelli calendar and hear how nature inspired the stunning images

She has featured in campaigns for Chanel, Versace and Louis Vuitton, and now, the Czech model Eva Herzigová, who became a household name in 1994 as the face of Wonderbra's famous “Hello Boys” advert, has been photographed submerged in a huge water tank for the 2026 Pirelli calendar.

A vast warehouse on an industrial estate in west London provided the setting for this extraordinary shoot. Once the tank had been filled, the temperature had to be maintained at a comfortable 28 degrees, with the water carefully filtered to ensure that it remained crystal clear.

The photographer behind the dramatic concept is Solve Sundsbo, who cites the clean, expansive vistas of his native Norway as a source of inspiration.

"I wanted to capture emotions, instincts and states of mind that are central to human life," he tells HELLO! when we meet him at Eva's shoot.

STRIKING SHOTS

Given that humans are intrinsically connected to nature, even images of natural scenes can lift our mood, so Solve chose to place the calendar's stars amid striking elements of the natural world.
