BRAVING THE WEATHER IN A KILT HIS MAJESTY ENJOYS A HIGHLAND FLING AT SCOTTISH WHISKY DISTILLERY

Not even an August downpour could stop the King from enjoying his first public outing since starting his summer break in Scotland

Clearly happy to be back north of the border, His Majesty donned a kilt in Stewart hunting tartan to officially open 8 Doors Distillery in John O’Groats, Caithness, where he was greeted by owners Kerry and Derek Campbell before being given a tour of the site.

As well as hearing about the importance of sustainability in the distilling process, he was also invited to sample the whisky in the shop and fill one of the hogshead casks.
