In fact, Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner, the flavor of the moment, has claimed show bigwigs encouraged him to lie to create a more dramatic story that would tug at viewers' heartstrings.

AS GLOBE reported, Turner was scripted as a sad widower who hadn't dated or kissed a gal since the tragic 2017 death of his wife, Toni, who succumbed to an infection.
