CAROLINE Kennedy and her artsy hubby Edwin Schlossberg’s 36-year marriage has hit the rocks again — with pals saying the couple are now living “separate lives” more than 10,000 miles apart!

As President John F. Kennedy’s only surviving child scoots off Down Under to become America’s ambassador to Australia, Ed, 77, is expected to remain in the Big Apple. Sources claim he’ll rarely visit his 64-year-old wife — and then just to keep up appearances.

“They’ve been living separate lives for years so I’m not at all surprised that she would accept this position,” dishes a source close to the
